ORIGINS

THE BRIEF

Our task was to create an all day dining (ADD) restaurant that fits in with the Vida Hotels and Resorts portfolio. Vida as a brand is synonymous with youthful vitality and vibrancy, Vida looks for ways to create experiences for guests that are enriching, meaningful and forward-thinking. 

OUR APPROACH

Bearing in mind Vida’s ethos of creating relevant, elevated, yet fuss-free hospitality experiences we developed Origins - an all-day, everyday, every-person eatery. Relaxed, natural  and wholly democratic, Origins is for all who seek to eat better, cleaner, more wholesome food. The design revolves around natural textures and shapes designed in a modernist way, without sacrificing on warmth. The raw smooth wood provides an organic and raw appeal, accentuated with brass, leather and greenery, creating a kind of urbanist- opulence. The textures work in unison to create a unique and elegant space that showcases the raw (sauvage) and imperfect (wabi-sabi).

The menu is a replication of this synergy – visually striking, natural, healthy and simple. The presentations are crisp and lively, plentiful and elegant. Origins celebrates provenance, not being married to any particular cuisine or style, but a space in which the exploration for chef and designer always starts from the raw materials.

THE OUTCOME

Origins is an all-day dining restaurant, for all who seek to eat better, cleaner, more wholesome food. Origins is currently being rolled out in multiple Vida Hotels and Resorts in Dubai and is set to go both country-wide and regionally as the Vida Hotels portfolio continues to grow.
